A Glimpse At Last Year And The Year Ahead

In looking over last year, to put it mildly, I lost approximately $3,500 on-line. I discovered this when I did my taxes for 2007. Near the end of the year I began re-evaluating what I was doing on-line and I took a little closer look at what programs were sucking me dry and which ones were viable. I'll admit, I had tried article submission at one point, but after I finally found a few article directories to submit my articles to, and then after manually copying and pasting my information into the required textboxes on each submission site, I quickly realized that my time could be better spent doing something else.

Then I came across a free program created by Brad Callen and Bryxen Software, Inc. that allows you to automatically submit your articles to hundreds of article directories with a few mouse clicks. Basically all I had to do was input my article criteria into the software, ONCE! Then, the program would automatically fill in all of the required data at each of the submission websites. Pretty incredible if you ask me.

The only part I didn't understand was why the program is free... but I can't argue with that I suppose.

The software currently contains around 700 article directories, all free to submit your articles to. It is the most straightforward program that we've come across, in that all you need to do is:

1. Input your article details (i.e. title, article body, bio, etc.) into the software

2. Click on the directory you want to submit to

And then the program will automatically fill in your article details. Then, you simply click the submit button and your article is instantly submitted to the directory. Then, you can move to the next directory, go through the list, and by the time you're finished you'll have roughly 700 one way links pointing to your website.

I can't think of an easier way to get links. Of course, if you're going to get links this quickly, it's important to submit different variations of your articles, to make things look more natural to the search engines.

You can do this very easily via Article Submitter when you create your project in the beginning.

The search engines pick up these lenses extremely fast which will bring a lot of traffic your way without spending any money on advertising. There is one last company I would like to mention and that is the Freelance Work Exchange. Overall Rating: 4.5 / 5 stars (* * * * 1/2) In A Nutshell --- A catchy new viral marketing tool, capable of broadcasting messages directly to people's desktops. Easy to use, and caters primarily to those who have something they want to promote and are looking for a better way to do it. (Read on for why I didn't give it 5 stars)

1. Initial Impressions --- When I was first introduced to DesktopLightning.com, I wasn't quite sure exactly what to think. Everyone was saying it was going to be more powerful than e-mail marketing, but this seemed like too bold of a claim. I signed up anyway, since I usually give things a chance -- that's how I have found the several sites I do really trust and rely on.

The signup process did take about 60 seconds, as advertised, and their software program downloaded and installed in about 30 seconds. No long, tedious install processes here. If you own downloadable software, you might want to take a look at how quick their install process is.

Right after installing the software, it ran immediately, and I was quickly presented with a tool to invite my friends. Within one-click's access was my Inbox, the tool to send broadcasts, a statistics page, and my favorite, the "Build Your Network" page. I'll get more into why that's my favorite page later.

2. Viral Growth --- This is where the site really shines, in my opinion. The purpose of a viral marketing site is that you should be able to invite just a few people, and then it will start growing on its own. Many sites claim to work like this, but few actually work as advertised. I'm not sure if it's because of their unique concept or the slick implementation, but this site is REALLY viral.

Here's some of the testimonials they got, which I think sum it up pretty well: "I haven't ever seen a system build a downline so fast. I joined your program just to try something new. Four days later I had a downline of 43 people. This is unbelievable."

~ Harry Joseph "I invited just a handful of people only a few days ago and I already have 48 members on 5 levels below me. I am going to keep promoting this, but I see it has a life of it's own now. I couldn't stop my network from expanding if I wanted to!"

~ David Parton "This website is so viral - I received over 100 sign-ups and my network is already 5 levels deep in less than 48 hours."

~ Rene Keiser "Although they obviously can't guarantee results for anyone, the general consesus is that most people who do get those initial few people in are experiencing results similar to these. I give DesktopLightning.com an A+ for spreading like wildfire.

3. Direct-To-Desktop Broadcasts --- So, once you have the people in your network from the direct invitations and the viral growth, then it really gets cool. Now is when you get to broadcast whatever message you want directly to their desktops.

Gone are the days of sending out emails and wondering if they were received due to spam filters and crowded inboxes. If you upgrade to their Platinum membership, then you can even get exact statistics on the percentage of your broadcasts that were opened, but the Platinum membership is not the subject of this review.

Here's how it works -- the DesktopLightning.com software is what allows the direct-to-desktop communication to be received. Since everyone in your network will have the DesktopLightning.com application installed, just as you do, this is what allows such smooth and instant communication to occur.

Within one hour of your sending the message, everyone in your network who is online will receive a notification on their desktop that they can click to read your message. Anyone who isn't online at the time will receive it when they log on next. I'm sure you can see why this type of communication has been more successful than email as of late, so I won't get into it too much here.

The basic point though is that there's no way your message can be lost, overlooked, or blocked by any filters. If you upgrade to their Platinum service you can do things like embed video and sound right into the broadcast, but again, I'll save the Platinum service for another review.

4. Building Your Network --- Most sites out there nowadays don't really help you build a network of people below you. They just throw you a URL and tell you to run with it. While this works for most advanced people, it's not something that's very easy for people who are just starting out.

DesktopLightning.com went really far this time to make sure that everyone has a way to bring people into their network, regardless of skill level. When you click on the "Build Your Network" link from within their application, you'll be presented with a surprising number of tools to help you build your downline. Everything from banners, to popups, to text ads, to invitation tools, to emails to send out, etc. Then, they continue to offer something which I haven't seen on any Internet Marketing site yet -- they have a "Starting From Scratch" section, designed specifically for people who have no list and no website with traffic. If you're in that position, then you'll love this section, since they detail specific strategies you can use to promote DesktopLightning.com (or anything for that matter), even if you don't have anything to start with. Quite a valuable resource.

5. Not For Everyone --- With all that said, the only downside to DesktopLightning.com is that it's not for everyone. Of course, some might see that as an upside, since it's a more targeted opportunity. Basically, the bottom line is that DesktopLightning.com is a promotional tool. You need to have something you want to promote or advertise before you can really make use of the site. This is all due to the fact that the basic concept is that you build a viral network of people, and then broadcast something to it.

But, this "something" is whatever you want, so you must already have something you'd want to send to a lot of people. If you don't have something yet, you could start building your network first, and then once you get something to promote you'll be ready to launch it immediately. If you do have something to promote, that's when the site really shines.

6. Conclusion --- I would recommend this site to anyone who has something to promote or advertise. It definitely works, and your downline will grow extremely fast if you put some energy into getting it started. The direct-to-desktop broadcasts are a killer app in today's online climate, where emails barely even get through anymore.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it has nothing to offer for people who don't have anything to promote or advertise yet. If you want to advertise or promote something to a lot of people in a unique and poweful way, then this site is for you.

I recently wrote an article on "How To Generate The Traffic You Deserve." In that article I referred to MTT as my best recommendation for creating vertical ultra-targeted traffic. I also indicated that this new traffic generating system would take the internet by storm and change the way traffic is generated on the World Wide Web.

Upon first viewing the MoreThanTraffic.com website my first inclination was to simply forget about this program. And that this program sounded entirely too good to be true and that if it sounds too good to be true that it isn't! But somehow I could only think that if it were true that this program would really add to my bottom line and allow me to complete some of the other projects I was currently working on with ease. I figured even if I did not receive the promised $100,000 half of that or a quarter or even a third of that would suffice. So ashamedly I must admit that I was taken in as so many others probably have been by this company.

I signed up to become an affiliate and sent in $169 to advertise my MTT affiliate url. Yes, I got all of the messages from Simon Baxter and everyday I waited for the bottom to fall out of this program. Yes, I was skeptical from the beginning but was just curious enough to send in the money to have this program tested. However, I was reluctant to show this program to my friends and family. I figured if it was a scam that I didn't want to have my close associates involved so I decided to wait to see how I made out first. Therefore, I didn't really promote the program until a couple of days ago at which time I wrote the above-mentioned article.

Upon submitting the article -- I received an anonymous tip from someone who had viewed it. They sent this anonymous tip via my blog. However, the more I read the more I became convinced that this could end up being one of the biggest scams in the history of the internet. Here are some of what the users of this forum have uncovered:

1. The domain was registered using false names and hidden telephone numbers. Mail is received via a series of maildrops. No such company registered anywhere in the UK

2. They are connected to two other scams. Monopolizer and Juice Boosted. Same bank account, same e-mail headers and the name Simon Baxter appears in all three scams - however he supposedly used the name Simon Stepsys AKA Simon Baxter in the Monopolizer scam

3. To date not one person has reported receiving their traffic as promised.

4. Those who dared to complain have received threats either of legal action or more personal threats. The threats of legal action have been posted on the forum but there is no proof of a death threat.

5. Recently MTT has been sending out e-mails expressing the urgency of signing up for even more packages at a special rate and it is believed that they are doing this because they are about to make a run for the hills.

6. Anybody that has invested in this scam should demand an immediate refund and then file a complaint with the local cops. This is the only way to stop these scammers.

7. Anybody still actively promoting MTT is risking jail.

It is stated that in the Monopolizer scam that the webmaster Simon Stepsys AKA Simon Baxter was compiling unrealistic false stats and making promises he could not deliver -- all the while knowing they would be long gone before they would have to prove anything. And that if anyone complained about what was going on their accounts were immediately suspended. All in all they never delievered as promised. It is also stated that this company operated over three years and the authorities were unable to locate them because they used maildrops and that one maildrop led to another and another. Obviously they were masters at covering their tracks. To date nothing has been done legally about Monopolizer. They have never been apprehended.

In reading further a couple of users indicated that they had passed the 68 days that MTT says it takes them to deliver traffic and that they received no traffic whatsoever. And one person upon writing to MTT to inquire about it, had their site suspended immediately and all had been lost including all of the affiliates that had been signed up under this person. A tactic Monopolizer used evidently.

It was also noted that MoreThanTrafffic.com had their account frozen at one time by e-gold after an affiliate complained that they were a company operating a scam. After further investigation by e-gold they froze the account and MoreThanTraffic.com at that time had a block placed on their account to prevent them from receiving any further funds. However, it appears that they received a Limited Account from e-gold at a later date.

It is further stated that the address that is listed on the MoreThanTraffic.com website is a legitimate address; however, once an investigation was done by one of the forum members who either spoke to or wrote to the manager of the Temple House address; the manager stated that MoreThanTraffic.com leased the office space there but did not operate out of that office and that the mail sent to the Temple House address was being forwarded elsewhere.

I will leave it up to you to go there to find out what the facts really are in this case. And perhaps you could conduct your own investigation into this matter to further substantiate or disprove these claims.

Considering that I wrote an article promoting MoreThanTraffic.com I feel it my duty to stop promoting this program after visiting SCAM.com. I feel further obligated to let others know what I have uncovered so that they are able to research this as well. This will enable others to make their own decision as to whether or not this is truly a scam.

In my opinion all indicators are pointing to the fact that indeed this company is bilking many innocent online entrepreneurs out of their money. And that they are about to close up shop on us. Of course, it would be nice if this program were legitimate and we all received what we were promised. However, it is simply too good to be true. And all indicators in my opinion point in the direction of a scam!

How Lead Programs Create Affiliate Success

There are various lead generating programs all over the internet. Some of them are free of charge while others will cost a one-time or monthly fee. These programs can be found as Co-Registration sites, FAA sites, Guaranteed Sign Up Programs, Joint Ventures and others may be offered on Affiliate Program sites.

Recently Joint Ventures have been all the rage. It is true that if you participate in a joint venture as a contributor that you may increase your subscriber list exponentially. Some promoters have increased their subscriber lists by 700+ subscribers on a single joint venture. If you come across one, which should be very easy to do -- and if resources allow, become a contributor.

Co-Registration sites will provide you with leads usually for a monthly fee. You can load these leads into your auto-responder series. Usually they are are not double opt-in leads. They can be rather effective and are costly if you are on a tight budget. Many of the heavy-hitters use Co-Registration leads successfully!

FAA sites are not as effective as they once were. You are allowed to place your advertisement on your site and it will be mailed out to your leads that are supplied by those who have posted to the FAA. The leads will either be mailed out by yourself on your personal mailer or from the FAA sites server; as this enables you to avoid spam complaints by by-passing your ISP. You usually have an option as to which way you prefer to have your leads delivered daily. Most often you can join Free or Pro.

Guaranteed Sign Up Programs offer leads to you for a fee -- usually a one-time fee for a certain amount of leads. However, I have read online that these leads do not come from the most reliable source. I have read that some of these people are paid to sign-up and that because of this they are not usually active candidates in promoting your programs. Actually, I don't know how true this is. I have never used this type of lead. However, it may be worth your while to research this type of lead further before investing your hard earned cash!

You can also generate your own leads by creating lead capture pages, newsletters, reports and articles -- most of which create opt-in mailing lists that you can promote all of your back-end products to.

If you are promoting an affiliate program(s) it is imperative that you obtain leads in order to successfully promote them. If you can find an affiliate program that offers lots of lead generating tools you'll be a step ahead! When looking for an affiliate program to promote try to find a program that offers some of the following tools.

Auto-responder, leads, weekly commission payout, start page rotator, training center, html tutorial, website templates, email accounts, search engine submit, residual income, doorway page generators, e-book library, redirect urls, etc. These are tools that will add to your bottom line and help you become a more successful online entrepreneur.

'Empowerism' is an affiliate program that offers all of the above tools and more. I have found this program to be very helpful as it provides a lead generating program and many tools that are available to you with a small membership fee while offering many perks!

Try some of the lead generating programs offered here. Many affiliates are making online incomes by utilizing one or more of these marketing methods. Try experimenting with a few of these types of lead generating programs and you will see that your affiliate paychecks will start to roll in on a more consistent basis.
